Using The CDs with Crafty

Here's how I downloaded and use Winboard to access the games on the CDs

Step 1.     Download the Crafty program.
            a.)  browse to Tim Mann's Excellent Chess Page.
                 scroll down to the Crafty FTP site
            b.)  follow the instructions in the read.me file

Step 2.     a.)  from your desktop, lauch crafty by clicking START -> RUN -> (browse to the folder where you have loaded crafty) -> OPEN -> RUN

Step 3.     a.)  at the crafty prompt, enter the information to have crafty annotate the game(s) in a pgn file:
            b.)  Crafty v19.19 (1 cpus)
                 White(1): annotateh A00.PGN wb 1-99 0.10 20
                 This tells crafty to analyze the games in a file called A00.PGN,
                 for both the white and black moves, displaying appropriate information
                 when its evaluation has a differential of 0.10, spending 20 seconds
                 on each move.
            c.)  this will produce an html file with the annotations.
