What A Day

What a day that must have been
To watch Him as He entered in
And sing Hosanna in the highest
To our blessed Lord and King.

What a day that must have been
To cut the stems and wave the palms,
To spread their garments in the way
To welcome Him that glorious day!

Chorus
A day my humble Jesus came into town;
A day His people cast their garments down;
A day with no red carpet--nor bells to ring
But Oh, what a day, when they proclaimed Him King!

What a day that must have been
To see the children dance round Him,
To watch them as they raised their hands
And praised their King throughout the land.

What a day that must have been
As the crowd pressed close to Him;
To get a glimpse of the One who came
To save them from their sin.

( Chorus )
