A Bride and a Groom

There's a book in the Bible that tells of a love
Between a bride and a groom- it's the Song of Solomon.
It tells of a love that's far better than wine.
It's rare and it's sweet, like no other kind.
The bride is the church and the groom is our Lord.
What a love He has- we could ask for no more.

The bride has desires that are deep in her heart.
One thing she desires is the groom will not part.
She wants to stand by him as close as can be.
To know all about him and never to leave.
There's another desire that she has within;
To know the groom loves her like none other can.

When two are gathered below in His sight,
The desires are the same between a husband and wife.
Let her know that you love her and you'll never leave,
Through the good and the bad to each other you'll cleave.
What a beautiful picture God paints in His word;
In this union today it's the mark we press toward.
